Nikken Abe, also known as Nikken (日顕), was a Japanese Buddhist priest and the 67th high priest of Nichiren Shōshū. He served as the chief of the doctrinal department and played a significant role in various doctrinal compilations. On November 28, 1991, he excommunicated all members of Sōka Gakkai. His tenure witnessed the restoration of Taiseki-ji temple and the establishment of new temples, promoting orthodox Nichiren Buddhism globally. He was succeeded by Nichinyo I on December 15, 2005, and he passed away on September 20, 2019, at the age of 96 in Setagaya, Tokyo.
