Nikolay Dzhambazov is a Bulgarian captain and sailor known for his solo circumnavigation journey on a self-made yacht named 'Tangra.' He participated in the famous OSTAR race in 1980. Dzhambazov began building his yacht in 1973 and set off for his round-the-world trip on September 1, 1983, from Sozopol. After facing various challenges, including restrictions from local authorities, he reached Australia and returned to Burgas in 1985, receiving a warm welcome. He has since worked as a captain on foreign yachts and resides in the USA since 1999, being an honorary citizen of Sofia and Burgas.
