Nils H. Thommesen (1938-2012) was a Norwegian shipbroker and consul from Arendal. He had a deep-rooted family history in shipping and established Nils Thommesen Shipping Agencies after training in London. He was actively involved in Arendal's cultural heritage, securing Lille Torungen as a cultural monument and co-founding the Arendal City Museum. He received numerous accolades, including the cultural prize from Arendal municipality in 2000 and was appointed as commander by the King of Sweden for his long service.
