Nils Schiørring (April 10, 1910 - October 3, 2001) was a prominent Danish music researcher and professor of music at the University of Copenhagen from 1954 to 1980. He focused primarily on Danish music and earned his doctorate in 1950 with a thesis on 16th and 17th-century Danish secular songs. Schiørring was a leading author of the multi-volume work 'Musikkens historie i Danmark' published between 1977 and 1978, and he worked as a music critic for Berlingske Tidende for many years. He also collaborated on 'Folkevisen i Danmark' in the 1960s.
