Nirmala Devi, born Nazim on June 7, 1927, was a prominent Indian actress in the 1940s and a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiala Gharana. She was notably the mother of Bollywood star Govinda and the wife of fellow actor Arun Kumar Ahuja. Nirmala Devi had five children, including Govinda and film director Kirti Kumar. She made significant contributions to the Indian film industry and classical music before her passing on June 15, 1996.
