Nirupama Mankad, born on January 17, 1947, in Karachi, was an Indian tennis champion. She was the daughter of tennis champion G. Vasant and sister of another champion, Mayur Vasant. Married to cricketer Ashok Mankad, she had two sons, one of whom, Hars Mankad, also became a tennis champion. Nirupama was ranked No. 1 in India from 1965 to 1975 and won the Indian National Championships in women's singles multiple times. She also competed at Wimbledon and received the Arjuna Award from the Indian government for her contributions to tennis.
