Nishtala Appala Narasimham (1922–2002) was an eminent Indian physicist and spectroscopist. Born in Parlakimidi, he graduated with a B.Sc. in physics from Andhra University in 1942 and later an M.Sc. from Banaras Hindu University in 1945, both with first-class honors. He worked as a lecturer in physics at various colleges and joined R. K. Asundi for his Ph.D. at BHU, which he completed in 1952. He passed away in Mumbai at the age of 79, leaving behind his wife Kamala and son Prasad.
