Noëlle McAfee is a professor of philosophy at Emory University, specializing in women's, gender, and sexuality studies, as well as psychoanalytic studies. Since 2010, she has taught at Emory and previously served at Brandeis University. McAfee's research focuses on democratic theory, new media, and psychoanalytic perspectives on the public sphere. She is the co-chair of the Public Philosophy Network and an associate editor of the Kettering Review, actively engaging in political issues in Washington, D.C., both during and before her academic tenure.
