Noni Carter is an American author from Fayetteville, Georgia. She released her first book, Good Fortune, in January 2010, published by Simon & Schuster. This young-adult novel tells the story of a slave girl taken from Africa in the early 19th century and her quest for freedom after escaping a plantation in the United States. Carter began her studies as a freshman at Harvard University in 2009 and is among the youngest authors signed by Simon & Schuster. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Columbia University.
