Norbert Casper Lynton (1927-2007) was a prominent art historian and Professor of the History of Art at the University of Sussex. He contributed significantly to the fields of architecture and modern art, publishing works on artists such as Paul Klee and Ben Nicholson. He coauthored the 'Yale Dictionary of Modern Art' and authored 'The Story of Modern Art.' Lynton served as Chairman of the Charleston Trust and completed a book on Vladimir Tatlin shortly before his death. A posthumous publication on Bernard Cohen followed in 2009.
