Norishige Kanai is a Japanese physician and astronaut affiliated with JAXA and a lieutenant in the Japan Self-Defense Forces (Medical Service Branch). He served as a crew member on Expedition 54/55 aboard the International Space Station and returned to Earth on June 3, 2018.
