Norma Jean Almodovar, born on May 27, 1951, is an American author and activist for sex workers’ rights. After a decade as a traffic officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, she transitioned to work as a call girl in 1982. Almodovar faced legal troubles due to her attempts to recruit others into sex work. She ran for lieutenant governor in California in 1986 as a Libertarian and published her autobiography in 1993. She founded ISWFACE and has been involved with COYOTE promoting rights for sex workers.
