Norman Afzal Simons, also known as Avzal, is a South African serial killer and rapist who was convicted in 1995 for one murder and one kidnapping: that of 10-year-old Elroy van Rooy from Strand, Western Cape. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison (25 years for murder and 10 years for kidnapping). He is also known as the Stasi murderer.
