Norman Morrell was a British wrestler, born on July 17, 1912, who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. He was a four-time champion in the British freestyle featherweight division from 1933 to 1936 and won national championships in Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling. After the Olympics, he became a promoter and trainer, helping to establish the British Wrestling Federation and creating a significant ruleset for pro wrestling, known as Mountevans rules, alongside Edward Evans, 1st Baron Mountevans. He passed away on December 21, 2000.
