Norman Vickar was a notable political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada, who served as a member of the Legislative Assembly from 1975 to 1982 representing Melfort. A member of the New Democratic Party, he was the second Jewish individual elected to the assembly. He previously served as mayor of Melfort and as the Minister of Industry and Commerce in the Saskatchewan cabinet. After losing his re-election bid in 1982, he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. In honor of his contributions, locations in Melfort were named after him. He passed away on October 17, 2015.
