Nowamagbe Austin Omoigui, known as Nowa Omoigui, was a Nigerian physician and military historian born on March 28, 1959, in Great Britain. After returning to Nigeria, he studied medicine and graduated in 1981. He worked as a heart specialist in the USA and notably advised the US military during the Kuwait War. In 1994, he became the first African to lead the Heart Center at the University of South Carolina. Omoigui was also involved in historical studies on Nigeria, focusing on military coups and the Biafra War, and contributed articles to various publications.
