Nripendra Misra is an Indian bureaucrat and civil servant, born on March 8, 1945. An IAS officer from the 1967 batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre, he served as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2019. He has held key positions including chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Telecom Secretary, and Fertilizers Secretary. In 2021, he received the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award. His son, Saket Misra, became a nominated Member of the Legislative Council in Uttar Pradesh in April 2023.
