Numan Kurtulmuş is a Turkish politician born in 1959. He has been serving as the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey since June 7, 2023. Kurtulmuş is also the Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party and a member of its Central Executive Committee. He previously held the position of Deputy Prime Minister from 2014 to 2017 across several AKP governments and served as Minister of Culture and Tourism from 2017 to 2018. He has a doctorate in economics and is a professor at Istanbul University.
