Oscar Leslie Stone was a prominent general authority of the LDS Church, serving from 1972 until his death in 1986. He held various leadership roles, including president of the Salt Lake Temple and bishop of the Oakland 5th Ward. A successful businessman, he was vice president at Safeway, and co-founded Skaggs-Stone Wholesale Company. Stone was instrumental in the development of the Oakland Temple and served in multiple capacities within the Church. He was born in Idaho and spent much of his life in California and Utah, raising four sons with his wife Dorothy.
