Obisia Nwankpa, known as "Golden Gloves," is a retired Nigerian professional boxer who competed from the 1970s to the 1990s in the light and light welterweight categories. He won several titles including the Nigerian lightweight title, the African Boxing Union light welterweight title, and the Commonwealth lightweight title. Nwankpa represented Nigeria in the 1972 Summer Olympics but lost in his first match. Notably, he also earned gold medals at the 1973 All-Africa Games and the 1974 British Commonwealth Games.
