A versatile freelancer since 1973, he initially performed as a bassist and guitarist with the folk-rock band Erter, Kjøtt og Flesk in Tromsø. Eilertsen was part of Nordnorsk Visegruppe from 1975 to 1980, contributing to two influential albums. He has extensive experience in theater music and has worked with several notable artists. Transitioning to a more stable role in 2000, he contributed to the Cultural Department at UNN in Tromsø and now works with Landsdelsmusikerne.
