He began his journalism career at Trønder-Avisa in 1979 and joined NRK Nord-Trøndelag in 1983, where he became district manager in 1990 and program editor in 1997. Since August 1, 2003, he has been the editor of Steinkjer-Avisa. He holds degrees in media studies from Volda University College and Nordic studies from Telemark and Trondheim.
