Odd-Eiliv Bertheus Thraning, born on April 14, 1947, in Gratangen, is a former Norwegian teacher and politician from the Labor Party (Ap). He grew up in a political family, with his father and grandfather serving as mayors. Educated as a chemical engineer, he worked as a researcher at NTH. Thraning served as a chemistry teacher and principal before being elected to Levanger's municipal council and later serving as mayor from 1999 to 2007. He also held leadership roles in the Levanger Labor Party and local football clubs.
