Odessa Creekmore Komer (1925-2004) was an influential American labor unionist who significantly contributed to the United Auto Workers union. After leaving school early, she worked at Ford Motor Company, becoming the first woman elected to an office in her local union. Her notable achievements include advocating for seniority in job assignments, leading the union's women's department, and successfully challenging regulations barring women of childbearing age from working in hazardous conditions. In addition, she served on several organizations and was inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame in 1995.
