Odó Hurtado i Martí was a Catalan writer born in Barcelona in 1902. He studied law at the University of Barcelona and was active in Acció Catalana. Elected as a city councilor in Barcelona during the Second Spanish Republic, he faced imprisonment after the 1934 events. Exiled during the Spanish Civil War, he lived in France and later Mexico, working in a bookstore and a bank. He published stories in Pont Blau and wrote novels inspired by pre-war Barcelona's bourgeois society. He intermittently returned to Barcelona, where he received several literary awards.
