Originally aspiring to become a lawyer, he turned to journalism in 1924 and became a close friend of poet József Attila. His talents and language skills led him to work for major European news agencies under the name Edmund Demaitre. Throughout his career, he interviewed numerous notable figures, reported on the League of Nations, and served as a war correspondent during the Italian-Ethiopian War. After World War II, he settled in the USA and worked with Voice of America.
