Oktar Ataman is a Turkish military officer, born on March 17, 1939. He served as the former Commander of the 3rd Army and held various positions within the Turkish Land Forces and NATO throughout his career. After graduating from the Military Academy, he took part in peacekeeping operations in South Korea and later occupied various roles in NATO. He achieved ranks from Brigadier General to four-star General, before retiring on September 1, 2004. He is married, with two children and one grandchild.
