Olga Vasiljevna Perovskaya was a Russian children's book author born on April 9, 1902, in Vasiljevka. Coming from a family opposed to the tsarist regime, her great-aunt was executed for her role in an assassination. Inspired by her childhood in nature, Olga studied biology at Lomonosov University and published her most notable work 'Rebyata i zveriata' in 1925, depicting animal stories. Arrested in 1943, she faced a decade in the Gulag. After her rehabilitation in 1955, she returned to Moscow, where she passed away on September 18, 1961.
