Oliver Rex Weerasinghe, born June 20, 1933, in Nawalapitiya, Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a Sri Lankan-Swedish sculptor, draftsman, and craftsman. After training as an architect, he studied art under Peter Blake and Sir Anthony Caro in England. Notably recognized for his portrait sculptures, he depicted notable figures such as Sri Lanka's former Prime Minister Senanayake. After marrying, he moved to Sweden, where he created many sculptures, including busts of prominent individuals and various public artworks. He participated in numerous exhibitions both in Sweden and internationally.
