Olu Falae, born Samuel Oluyemisi Falae in 1938 in Akure, Nigeria, is a prominent politician and farmer. He studied at the University of Ibadan and Yale University. After a career in banking, he served as Finance Minister under the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida. Falae was the joint presidential candidate for the Alliance for Democracy and the All People's Party in the 1999 elections, where he garnered 37.22% of the votes but lost to Olusegun Obasanjo. He currently chairs the Democratic Peoples Alliance.
