He has served as a member of Rajya Sabha representing Rajasthan and is a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Initially mentored by Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, he established himself as a leader within the party. Mathur has a background as a Pracharak with the RSS and has held significant positions in the Gujarat BJP. He was born on 2 January 1952, in Bedal, Rajasthan, and completed his B.A. at Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
