He was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on July 20, 2022, wanted for the murder of Jabali Dumas and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Authorities suspect he may have fled to Mexico to evade arrest. Cardenas is the 528th fugitive to be placed on this list, replacing Eugene Palmer, and the FBI has offered a reward of up to $250,000 for information leading to his capture.
