Omar Armando Baquero Soler was a Colombian civil engineer and politician born on April 15, 1952, in Acacías. He was a pioneering figure as the first mayor of Villavicencio and also served as the first governor of the Meta department to be elected by popular vote. Baquero Soler's contributions to the community and his leadership roles were significant throughout his career. He passed away on May 23, 2009.
