Omar Assar is an Egyptian table tennis player born on July 22, 1991, in Desouk. He won a silver medal in singles and a gold medal in team events at the 2011 Arab Games held in Doha. Assar also participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's singles event but was eliminated in the second round. He is the brother of fellow table tennis player Khaled Assar.
