Omar Maani is a Jordanian engineer and businessman, born in 1956. He served as the Secretary-General of the Greater Amman Municipality from 2006 to 2011. Under his leadership, Amman experienced significant planned development, resulting in international awards for the Comprehensive Amman Plan, including the Global Leadership in City Planning Award and the 2007 Asia City Award. In 2012, an investigation into several municipal projects concluded without charges against him. In 2016, King Abdullah II appointed him to the Jordanian Senate and as a member of the Crown Prince Foundation.
