Omar Nahuel Garrido was a Chilean jazz pianist born on September 28, 1936, in Rancagua, and he became a prominent figure in modern jazz during the 1960s. After moving to Santiago in 1958, he formed various musical groups, including a notable acoustic trio and the Nahuel Jazz Quartet, which made significant contributions to the local jazz scene, such as producing the first live recording of a jazz concert in 1962. Nahuel tragically died in a car accident on June 19, 1969, at the age of 33.
