Ōnokuni Yasushi, born on October 9, 1962, in Memuro, Hokkaido, is a former Japanese sumo wrestler and was the 62nd Yokozuna. He made his debut in March 1978 and quickly ascended through the ranks, reaching Jūryō in 1982. Known for his large physique, he achieved significant success, including a perfect tournament win in May 1987, culminating in his promotion to Yokozuna. Despite early promise, injuries led to a decline, and he retired in 1991 after struggling to maintain performance. After retirement, he became an Oyakata and founded his own stable, Shibatayama-Beya.
