Oreste Marcoz was a Valle d'Aosta politician and lawyer born in 1905 in Aosta. He was a member of the Unione Valdostana (UV) party and served as president of the Regional Council from 1959 to 1963. Marcoz was a candidate for the Italian Senate in 1968 but was not elected. He became the mayor of Aosta on September 5, 1970, through a coalition with the PCI and PSI. He resigned in December 1971 to run for the Senate again in 1972, winning a seat but tragically died in a car accident on April 25, 1972.
