Oscar John Almquist (1908-1986) was a notable American ice hockey goaltender and coach from Eveleth, Minnesota. He played professionally for teams such as the Eveleth Rangers and St. Paul Saints before gaining prominence as a high school coach, leading the Roseau High School Rams to four state championships and a record 49-game winning streak. An All-American player in college, Almquist's coaching career concluded with an impressive record of 404 wins. His contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
