Othon Correia Netto was a Brazilian military officer and veteran of World War II, born on February 18, 1921, in Viçosa. He was part of the 1st Fighter Squadron and completed 58 combat missions in Italy. After being shot down and captured, he endured interrogations in German camps. He was liberated by American forces on May 10, 1945. Post-war, he continued flying, accumulating around 7,000 flight hours and serving as an instructor. He retired as a Major Brigadier and passed away on April 17, 2008, being buried in the São João Batista Cemetery.
