Otýlie Vranská was a Slovak prostitute living in Prague who became a victim of a brutal murder. Born on March 9, 1911, in Brezno nad Hronom, her dismembered body was transported in two suitcases via train to Bratislava and Jasině in Subcarpathian Ruthenia. This crime is considered the most famous unsolved murder in the history of Czechoslovak criminology. In 2023, the director of the Police Museum of the Czech Republic indicated that her murderers were likely Josef Pěkný, a sergeant, and his girlfriend, Antonie Koklesová, with personal circumstances leading to the murder.
