Ova Malmquist (1913-1994) was a Swedish sculptor and woodwork teacher, born in Huddinge. He trained as a furniture carpenter under Carl Malmsten and self-studied sculpture, beginning in 1938. His early work included stylized busts, and he used refugees as models during WWII. After the war, he created non-figurative sculptures using materials like plastic, iron, and steel. Malmquist exhibited his works in various locations, including Umeå museum and Realités Nouvelles in Paris. His legacy includes sculptures housed in Umeå länsmuseum and other significant collections.
