Oyalı was the first cloned animal in Turkey, created from an adult somatic cell by Prof. Dr. Sema Birler and her team at Istanbul University in November 2007. She gave birth to a lamb named Bahar on March 30, 2011. Oyalı's cloning marked a significant scientific achievement in animal cloning. Unfortunately, she passed away on April 16, 2012, due to a progressive lung disease.
