Øystein Singsaas is a Norwegian journalist and politician, born on December 17, 1945. He holds a master's degree in French from the University of Oslo (1974) and has studied in both the USA and France. Over his 25-year career at NRK, he held various positions, including program secretary and editorial chief. Singsaas served as NRK's foreign correspondent in Paris from 1986 to 1990, and was a state secretary at the Prime Minister's Office (1992-1996) and the Ministry of Defence (2000-2001). He was also the communications director at Ullevål University Hospital (2004).
