Pramod Karan Sethi was an influential Indian orthopaedic surgeon known for co-inventing the Jaipur foot, an affordable and flexible artificial limb, alongside Ram Chandra Sharma in 1969. His contributions to community health were recognized when he received the Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership in 1981, as well as the Padma Shri award from the Government of India the same year. Sethi’s innovations greatly improved the lives of amputees, making mobility possible for many who could not afford traditional prosthetics.
