Mohan Ponnusamy (1949-2009) was an Indian politician associated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)). He represented the Madurai constituency in the 13th and 14th Lok Sabha and was active in the student movement before officially joining the CPI(M) in 1973. He served as the District Secretary of the Democratic Youth Federation of India in Madurai and spent 16 years as the Secretary of the Madurai Urban district of the Party. Mohan was a long-standing member of the Tamil Nadu State Committee of the CPI(M) for 25 years.
