Pundi Narasimhan Rangarajan, born on April 15, 1963, is an eminent Indian biochemist and virologist. He is a professor and the Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry at the Indian Institute of Science. Renowned for his research in eukaryotic gene expression, Rangarajan is recognized as a fellow of major Indian science academies, including the National Academy of Sciences, Indian Academy of Sciences, and Indian National Science Academy. He was awarded the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2007 for his significant contributions to Medical Sciences.
