Known as the 'Barefoot Historian' or 'Pedestrian Researcher,' he gained acclaim for his extensive English-language writings on the history of Kolkata, notably for works like 'A History of Calcutta Streets.' His final book, 'Gandhi in Kolkata,' was published in 2019. Nair's contributions significantly enriched the understanding of Kolkata's historical narratives.
