Paddy Schmidt, born Harald Kligge on February 16, 1963, in Detmold, Germany, is a celebrated singer, entertainer, instrumentalist, and songwriter. He is the founder of the folk-rock band Paddy Goes to Holyhead, established in 1988. Schmidt temporarily left the band in 2001 to focus on his solo career but returned in 2005. He is known for his innovative use of the Celtic harmonica, skillfully applying new techniques to traditional Celtic music. Alongside his band and solo performances, he also authored a travel book about his motorcycle journey to Norway in 2012.
