The name Bääbs was originally a nickname created by another band member, Yrjö Saarinen. Kankaro has performed under this name since early 2009, with her first official release being a cover of Stig Doggin's song 'Kun nainen lyö,' included in the Syvissä Vesissä compilation album released by Sony Music.
